Hawthorns children go back in time!

William Atterbury and Lily Walker try out some trades from 17th century London.On Tuesday 15th November, Year 2 at The Hawthorns School in Bletchingley took part in an exciting Great Fire of London day. Everyone dressed up and tried their hands at different trades. As well as candle dipping, training to become an apothecary and making their own ink, the children became archaeologists and dug up remains of burned buildings.

Using a variety of tools and sources, they discovered who lived in the buildings at that time in history, and the jobs they may have had.
