Gold at 2017 School Games for Woldingham pupil
Published: Friday, 08 September 2017 10:33

Woldingham School pupil Charlotte Alexander, from East Grinstead, achieved yet more success with a Gold medal in the girls U17 3000m at the 2017 School Games, an event for the UK’s elite young athletes of school age. Charlotte was the only competitor in her race to break the 10 minute barrier, recording an impressive time of 9:47:48.

Charlotte’s attention will now turn from the track to cross country, another area in which she excels, having represented the England Cross Country squad at the Schools International Athletics Championships last season.

Woldingham School’s Director of Sport, Caroline Treacy, said:

“This prestigious win rounds off a great summer on the track for Charlotte, and we look forward to supporting her to further great achievements in this new academic year.”
