Havana - land of rum, cigars and Salsa
Published: Friday, 05 February 2010 01:36

The largest country in the Caribbean, Cuba, has much to offer visitors. Apart from the golden beaches and turquoise seas that the Caribbean is traditionally famous for there are breathtaking national parks for nature lovers. The history, food and Salsa music of the mesmerizing Old Town of Havana will provide a buzz and more than a dash of colour. The best time to visit is from November to April. The rainy/storm season is from May to October, although there are still plenty of sunny days during this period. I think Cuba offers the perfect combination for people wanting a relaxing Caribbean beach holiday with the option for fantastic trips to a wealth of natural and cultural wonders. Enjoy days lazing on the beach or touring the island and evenings filled with dancing, music and the sights, sounds and smells of this fantastic place.

With the global downturn there are some fantastic deals available this spring with one week on an All Inclusive basis starting at £600 per person for two weeks starting at £800 per person. These include your flights from Gatwick, transfers and hotel. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks are also included. This year may be the year to go as there is talk of the United States allowing tourism to Cuba for their citizens to restart after a long period of sanctions. This could result in a massive influx of US tourism. Go before this happens to take advantage of the great deals and relative quiet!
