Childhood hero: David Livingstone (what a story – should be made into a TV series).

Pastimes: I love going to the ballet when I can.

Likes: Caterham, Sweet Peas, chocolate.

Dislikes: The Rose and Young situation; discrimination; snobbery; unkindness and chewing/bubble gum.

Favourite Films: ‘Some Like It Hot’; ‘Out of Africa’; ‘The English Patient’ and ‘Death in Venice’.

Favourite song of all time: Percy Sledge ‘When a Man Loves a Woman’.

Favourite books: ‘Pride and Prejudice’; ‘The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency’; ‘Pillars of the Earth’ and ‘Wolf Hall’.

Favourite holiday destination: Anywhere warm and sunny at the moment! The Maldives were heaven on Earth.

Who would you most like to throw a custard pie at? The owners of the Rose and Young building.

Biggest influence on your life: My parents – both good, kind and very wise people.

Proudest moment: Being re-elected, twice, to represent Caterham Valley at Surrey County Council, and recently being invited to Number 10 by the Prime Minister, David Cameron.

Most embarrassing moment: Arriving at my young son’s nursery school to watch the annual play only to find that he had set off the fire extinguisher and flooded the school.

Where would you most like to live? Right here.

Who would you most like to meet? The owners of the Rose and Young building.

If you won the Lottery jackpot, how would you spend it? I would buy the Rose and Young building!
