This month we feature Mr Sam Gyimah, Member of Parliament for East Surrey and Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Prime Minister, David Cameron.

Birthplace: Beaconsfield, Berkshire.

Marital Status: Getting married at the end of September!

Children: None.

Cars: Audi A3.

Pets: Not for me but Nicky, my fiancé, has other ideas!

Favourite food and drink: Spicy food (curry, Thai) and beer.

Favourite TV show: House (Hugh Laurie is brilliant).

Pastimes: Running, watching sport, spending time with friends and family.

Likes: I am an armchair fan of most sports.

Dislikes: Long queues.

Favourite books:

One of the novelists I enjoy most is Sebastian Faulks, so perhaps ‘A Week In December’.

Who would you most like to meet? Muhammad Ali.

Who would you like to throw a custard pie at: Arsene Wenger – for selling Van Persie to Manchester United!

Favourite song of all time: I grew up on Michael Jackson, so anything from the album ‘Thriller’.

Favourite holiday destination: New Zealand for the stunning scenery, or Rome for the history.

Biggest influence on your life: My mother for raising three of us on her own.

Proudest moment: Getting elected to Parliament by the people of East Surrey with an increased majority.

Most embarrassing moment: I’ll keep that one to myself!

Where would you most like to live? I’m very happy where I am at the moment in leafy East Surrey.

If you won the lottery how would you spend it? I’d quite like to buy a Caterham 7!
