In the Spotlight - Jean Hewett
Published: Thursday, 27 May 2010 07:19

This month we feature Caterham resident Jean Hewett who is President of the Surrey County Women's Bowling Association this year.

Birthplace: Blackheath.

Marital Status: Married to Michael.

Children: Two, Piers and Alison.

Cars: Volvo.

Pets: Sadly none at present although I love dogs.

Childhood hero: Sir Alex Guiness.

Favourite Food & Drink: As a vegan I love all fruit, vegetables and salad. I don't drink alcohol.

Favourite books: Pride and Prejudice, Rebecca, Tess of the D'Urbervilles.

Likes: Spending time with my four grandchildren.

Pastimes: Bowls, knitting and needlework, reading.

Favourite TV show: University Challenge.

Who would you most like to throw a custard pie at? Possibly my grandson as he would throw one back!

Favourite song of all time: 'What a Wonderful World' sung by Louis Armstrong.

Favourite holiday destination: South Africa where my daughter and family live.

Dislikes: Politics.

Biggest influence on your life: Michael.

Proudest moment: Marrying Michael and having both our children.

Most embarrassing moment: Out for a 'posh meal' for Michael's 21st birthday when my knife slipped on my fork and deposited a large amount of spinach and gravy on my left boob of a white silk Grecian dress. Fortunately the dress had a stole attached to the left shoulder which was then draped over the front of me for the rest of the evening as the stain would not come out!

Where would you most like to live? Caterham.

Who would you most like to meet? Dame Judi Dench.

If you won the Lottery jackpot, how would you spend it? I would make sure my children were financially OK and buy a new car.
