Who wants to be a Volunteer?
Published: Monday, 09 June 2014 23:25

Would you or your teenager - maybe someone who is doing a Duke of Edinburgh Award - like to help people for a couple of hours in the morning, afternoon or evening on any day of the week? Based in a pleasant pavilion, you be involved in renting out the putting and bowls equipment.

Or maybe you have a passion for mentoring the young and would feel that your life experience and skills would make you the ideal candidate to become a Community Mediator.

Perhaps you are aware of how easy it is to feel or become isolated when the family have left home and/or one has retired from work? I am looking for people who will not just befriend another person but accompany their new friend/client once a week to go shopping or to the Tea and Chat sessions at the Douglas Brunton Centre in Caterham.

These are just three of the many volunteering opportunities that I can offer. Some require the volunteer to be available for a bi-monthly meeting, plus preparation of papers. Other organisations need you to commit for a couple of years in return for extensive training. Alternatively you can sign in with me to become part of ‘Team Caterham’ and I will make contact with you to see if you can help with local events.

The choice is yours! Contact me at caterhamvc@ tvsc.org.uk or 01883 344444.
