Beatles Night boosts funds for COGS
Published: Friday, 15 April 2011 10:21

Caterham, Oxted and Godstone Lions Club (COG's) held another very successful fundraising concert on Saturday 9th April at the Humphrey Hall at Caterham School. Over 200 people enjoyed a great concert played by the tribute group 'The Magic of the Beatles'. Young and old thoroughly enjoyed the music that took many back to the age of the Swinging Sixties. The great tunes brought back happy memories with endless clapping from the audience and some of them dancing at the front of the stage! A member of the audience said: "If you shut your eyes it was like listening to the real thing."

In spite of having to change the date of the concert the hall was packed with enthusiastic supporters of the club and lovers of Beatles music. There was a paying bar and a raffle. The proceeds, £1,100, will go to help those in need in Tandridge and further afield. COG's are extremely grateful to Caterham School and to all those who helped make the event a success.
