Royal Wedding celebrations at Caterham Prep
Published: Thursday, 05 May 2011 22:29

Staff and pupils all entered into the national spirit of celebration last week when they had a right royal wedding celebration on Thursday.

Both sections of the school, PrePrep (3-7 year olds) and Prep (7-11 year olds) dressed in red, white and blue to celebrate the day with street party style lunches in the playgrounds, and lots of activities and party games throughout the day. They all brought to school their favourite teddy, dressed especially for the wedding. Even Caterham's Katy Bear dressed up for the occasion, in her Beefeater outfit.

Caterham Prep School pupils Jasmine Vickars (aged 8) and Mollie Oakes (aged 7).

PrePrep children busied themselves making their crowns for the royal lunch before they celebrated with party games run by Caterham's disco king, Graham Nott (who also doubles as the caretaker!).

The older children, meanwhile, participated in a carousel of activities which included karaoke, party games, a scavenger hunt, and junk modelling which required the construction of a royal carriage, a church, a bride and groom and a guardsman.

All children had a wonderful day in anticipation of the wedding formalities on Friday, and loud cheers supported their best wishes for happiness to royal couple.
