Published: Wednesday, 25 May 2011 20:35

Tandridge District Council has appointed Piers Mason as its new Chief Planning Officer. Piers will take up the position on Wednesday 1st June following the retirement of the current Director of Planning, Bob Evans.

Former Reigate Grammar School pupil, Piers first joined Tandridge District Council in 1994 after graduating. After a brief period with Sevenoaks District Council, he returned to Tandridge as Assistant Director in 2008.

Piers takes over the District Council's planning service when long-standing Bob Evans retires on 31st May. Bob joined Tandridge in 1976 and has been Director of Planning for 16 years.

Leader of Tandridge District Council, Councillor Gordon Keymer, said: "We are delighted Piers Mason has been appointed as Chief Planning Officer, but sorry to see Bob Evans leave. He has been an excellent Director and will be sorely missed."
