Work starts on Whyteleafe Play Area
Published: Friday, 10 June 2011 10:46

Work has started on the new Whyteleafe play area in Hillbury Road, Whyteleafe.

Once the preparation works are finished, the new play area will be installed by SMP Playgrounds by end of July. Tandridge District Council is rebuilding the children's play area at a cost of £100,000. The existing site was installed in 1984 and needed refurbishment.

The design of the play area was chosen by local residents, who were able to vote for their preferred design from a choice of four. SMP Playgrounds' design won the most votes on the day and online.

Councillor Tony Elias, Chairman of the Community Services Committee, said: "In just a few weeks local residents will have an exciting new playground, which they have helped create."
