Local Guide Leader Julie Woodland has been presented with the Laurel Award for her outstanding contribution to Girl Guiding in Surrey. The award was presented to Julie by Margaret Frosztega, County Commissioner for Surrey. Julie has held several appointments within Guiding and currently runs 7th Caterham Guides, a unit she attended herself as a Girl Guide.

Julie was nominated and given the award as a national recognition of all the work she has done and continues to do within the movement. Her girls and leaders organised a special celebration where friends and fellow colleagues within Guiding were invited to attend her unit to see Julie be presented with this rare award.
