Stop vandalising Caterham-on-the-Hill!
Published: Friday, 08 July 2011 10:25

Caterham-on -the -Hill Parish Council is asking vandals to stop their trail of destruction in the area after a series of incidentl last weekend, 2nd -3rd July.

Councillor Mary Mountain, Chairman of the Parish Council, said: "I was very upset to find that a tree recently planted by the Parish Council outside the library had been ripped out of the ground. A lot of effort and expense has gone into improving the appearance of Caterham -on -the -Hill and just to have it destroyed so thoughtlessly is very disappointing and annoying .

"As well as this vandalism to the tree I was informed of the burning of park benches in Queens Park and Westway, litter bins being strewn over the park, graffiti in various locations and glass in the children's play area. All this was apparently done in one evening and probably by a very few individuals. We are a very law abiding community and cannot let a few spoil it for the rest of us."

The Parish Council would like to appeal to residents to report any acts of vandalism to the police on 0845 125 2222 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
