Residents meet to discuss future of Chaldon Mead
Published: Wednesday, 28 September 2011 20:42

Chaldon MeadAt a public meeting held in Chaldon Village Hall on Thursday, 1st September, the Chaldon Mead Action Group was formed to consider the possible purchase of Chaldon Mead for the community. The site, recently home to people with learning disabilities, has been put on the market by the NHS for £1million. The 4.5 acre site could become a new community hub to replace the village hall that is badly in need of upgrading.

At a subsequent meeting on Thursday 15th September the new Action Group drafted an expression of interest that has been put to the NHS. Funding in the region of £2.5million is being sought from a variety of sources.
