Members of the U3A Walking Group

Are you retired or have some spare time and would like to take part in activities with a group of friendly local people? Caterham and District U3A has 28 groups from Art and Music to Book Reading and Scrabble. Some, for example Current Affairs, Music, Spanish for Beginners, Computing, Gardening, Sewing and Table Tennis still have vacancies. The Walking Group and Outings Group are also popular and have spaces for new members. U3A also hopes to start a German Group and a revived Play Reading Group. The new 'Gleetones' is an informal singing group who enjoy singing songs from shows and other popular numbers. They love singing but they would very much like someone to conduct and lead them. The Art Group is also hoping to start another class and sessions of Bridge, the most popular card game in the world are held in Oxted and Coulsdon.

The next U3A branch meeting is being held on Saturday 1st November with a talk by a former Captain of the Queen's Flight about flying the Royal Family. The club also holds social gatherings such as a strawberry cream tea, summer garden lunch, BBQ and a traditional Festive lunch.

New members will be very welcome. If you have any spare time and a particular interest which you would like to share with others of a like mind, perhaps you would even think of starting a new Group? For more details call Membership Secretary, Ron Giddens on 01883 346760 or visit www.caterhamu3a.org.uk
