Launch of new service for parents of children with disabilities
Published: Friday, 21 October 2011 09:55

Parents of children aged 0-25 with disabilities and SEN are being invited to the launch of a new forum called 'Family Voice Surrey'. The launch is being held on Monday 21st November from 10am-1pm in the Garden Room at Denbies Wine Estate, Dorking.

The aims of Family Voice are to provide: 'A strong voice of parents and carers to influence and contribute at a strategic level, to the design and delivery of services for children with disabilities and SEN in Surrey.'

The event will begin with a welcome and introduction to Family Voice Surrey by Co-Chairs, Sheridan Humphreys and Andrea Thomas followed by a talk by guest speaker Carrie Britton of the National Network of Parent/Carer Forums. There will then be a group discussion asking what are the top three challenges facing families with disabilities and SEN in Surrey? Speaking after the refreshment break will be Lara Roberts of the West Sussex Parents Forum and Julie Pointer, Transition Development Manager at Surrey County Council.

For more information and to book place at the launch event call 01372 833073/833098 (e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).
