Guests pack golf club for Rotary Reachout event
Published: Friday, 28 October 2011 10:25

All smiles – guests at yesterday's Rotary Reachout event.

110 local pensioners were given a special treat by members of Caterham Rotary Club at their annual Reachout event yesterday. The guests, many of whom live alone or in sheltered accommodation, were all picked up by volunteers and taken to Surrey National Golf Club in Chaldon where they were served a delicious lunch followed by entertainment by jazz singer, John Lazenby.

After tea and cakes the guests were driven back home in a fleet of cars and minibuses by the volunteers. As they left the guests all thanked the Rotary Club members for a lovely day.

Caterham Rotary Club member, Colin Vane, said: "We are really pleased with how the day has gone, everyone had a good time."
