Caterham Valley is boasting beautiful new Christmas lights this year thanks to generous donations from local organisations. The new lights, costing £6,000 have been two thirds funded by Caterham Valley Parish Council and one third by the Caterham Business Partnership and its members.

Helen Hammer, member of Caterham Valley Parish Council, said: "This truly is 'localism' – working with community groups for the better of our town to revamp the Christmas lights."

Andrew Browne, Chairman of the Caterham Business Parnership said: "The feedback from the public so far has been very good, but there are more lights to come as half of the new lights have yet to be delivered so some of the old lights are being used until they arrive."
