Published: Wednesday, 22 February 2012 21:30

Eye patients visiting the new Walk-In Centre at the Caterham Dene Hospital are benefitting from the latest piece of new equipment - a state-of-the-art 'Slit Lamp' used for examining eyes.

The machine has been acquired with the help of Caterham Rotary and Caterham Harestone Rotary Clubs who each donated £2,000 with the additional support of Caterham Round Table who helped with the traditional Christmas collection.

The hospital, in Church Road, Caterham-on-the- Hill, also has a new auroscope for ear examination thanks to the Caterham Dene League of Friends and the Chaldon and Caterham Women's Institute.

Emergency Nurse Practitioner, Lisa Wood said: "We are very grateful to have these brand new machines that will enable us to give a better service to our patients. The local people like our new Walk-In Clinic which is getting busier every week!"

The Walk-In Centre at Caterham Dene is open from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday for patients over the age of 16. To contact the Walk-In Centre call 01883 837512.
