Catalytic Converter marking event
Published: Friday, 24 February 2012 11:29

Surrey Police are inviting members of the public to help stamp out an aspect of vehicle crime by attending a free marking event.

Officers in Tandridge will be holding the catalytic converter marking day at Caterham Tyre Company, 407 Croydon Road, Caterham, CR3 6PP on Tuesday, 6 March, 2012.

The appointment only event will be held from 10.30am until 3.30pm, with each appointment lasting around 15 minutes. It is hoped the day will educate vehicle owners about keeping their cars and vans safe. Neighbourhood officer will be on hand to give crime prevention advice and information on how to spot a theft taking place.

Tandridge Neighbourhood Inspector Angie Austin said: "Over recent months there has been several thefts of catalytic converters across East Surrey. We hope this event will not only prevent more people becoming a victim, but also raise awareness that these thefts are taking place across the area and hope people can spot and stop them.

Anyone who is interested in attending the event should contact the Tandridge Neighbourhood Team Coordinators on 01483 630220 by 5pm on Friday, 2 March, 2012 to book an appointment. All appointments are on a first come, first served basis.
