Caterham youngster leads out the Gunners
Published: Friday, 06 April 2012 12:04

Lucky nine-year-old Junior Gunner Max Baker from Caterham was chosen at random to be the Gunners' mascot for their 2-1 defeat to QPR last Saturday afternoon, 31st March.

Being a member of Arsenal's junior supporter's club, the "Junior Gunners", gave Max the once in a lifetime chance of not only walking the team out onto the pitch and meeting his heroes, but also bagging players' autographs and a brand new Arsenal kit too.

Max was clearly delighted to have been selected: "It was just brilliant to have been chosen, especially to meet Walcott, who scored Arsenal's goal. I had a really great day even with the result."

Theo Walcott, pictured with Max shortly before kick-off, said: "It was great to meet Max at Loftus Road at the weekend. I hope he enjoyed the experience, and will remember the day for a long time to come."

Sue Campbell, manager of the Junior Gunners said: "We were delighted to offer Max the chance to be our mascot for the game with QPR. This is one of the many occasions throughout the year where our Junior Gunners get the opportunity to meet their heroes, and it is always a memorable day".
