Whyteleafe gets set to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee
Published: Thursday, 26 April 2012 20:49

Whyteleafe Village Council are planning a variety of themed activities and events to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee on 3rd June.

In addition to encouraging the local community to hold Diamond Jubilee street parties, the council is organising a children's art competition, a best dressed street, house and business competition, a tree planting and plaque unveiling in the Whyteleafe Community Garden and a special OAP lunch.

Whyteleafe Village Councillor, Tom Dempsey, said: "We wanted to plan events for the whole community to enjoy, including our youngsters and the elderly, so we hope these activities offer something for everyone. We would really like everyone to enter into the spirit of this extra-special day and get involved. It will be a great opportunity to have some fun and meet the neighbours!"

More details will be circulated on flyers and on the Whyteleafe Village Council website at www.whyteleafecouncil.org.uk or call Tom Dempsey on 01883 626270.
