Caterham is registered as having one of the 2012 Beacons that will be lit around Great Britain and the Commonwealth on Monday 4th June to celebrate the Jubilee.

The lighting of the Beacon takes place at 8pm on Westway, followed by a firework display generously sponsored by Caterham-on-the-Hill Parish Council.

Before the lighting of the Beacon, a special 'British Music for the Jubilee' classicial concert is being held at St. Mary's Church to raise money for the Tandridge Community Fund.

The concert will feature music from Elgar to Vaughan Williams performed by the orchestra of St. Paul's, Covent Garden and conducted by Ben Palmer. Following the concert the audience will be invited to parade down to Westway for the Beacon lighting and fireworks. Tickets to the concert cost £20 for adults and £12.50 for children and are available from Vivace Pianos in the High Street, tel: 01883 345569.
