Jay Aston visits new Woldingham playground
Published: Friday, 01 June 2012 11:56

On Friday 11th May, Bucks Fizz singer, Jay Aston, officially opened the newly refurbished Glebe Playground in Warlingham.

Fundraisers Denise Todd and Julie Cornish placed a new plaque in the playground to mark the occasion as well as a plaque to recognise the contribution of £9,500 from the Big Lottery Fund which funded the purchase and installation of the climbing frame. In total they raised £27,600 and every penny has now been spent.

Julie and Denise thanked everyone who had supported the project both through donations and helping in many other ways including working behind the scenes delivering leaflets, baking cakes and offering items for sale on eBay for Charity.

Denise said: "Without everyone's invaluable contributions, our dream would never have become a reality."
