On Friday 15th June, 40 Surrey golfers took part in a Charity Golf Day at Surrey National Golf Club to raise funds for a special school for children with profound autism. Their efforts raised £1300 for the Friends of Papillon House School Charity.

The charity event was organised by the father (George Hughes), uncle (Robert Mullane) and grandfather (David Mullane) of Callum Hughes, a pupil at  Papillon House School in Tadworth. The competition had 40 keen competitors and raised £1300 towards the Papillon House School Playground Project.

David Mullane  said: "As a family we are delighted with the amount raised to help buy equipment for  the children at Papillon House School. We'd like to thank everyone that took part for their support and generosity, especially our sponsors : Surrey National Golf Club, Haxted Estates, Hughes & Son Flat Roofing, Platinum Kitchens & Bedrooms, Black Lion Public House and Human Focus International. It was a great day, enjoyed by all. So much so, that we have decided to make this an annual event so that we can continue to support this worthy charity in future years. It is great for us to give something back as family to Papillon House, who have changed my grandson's life for the better, whilst helping us all to understand and embrace autism."
