On Wednesday 27th June the members of Caterham Bowling Club at Queens Park Road, Caterham were delighted to welcome some VIP guests when they were visited by a team from the Royal Hospital in Chelsea.

Last year marked the Centenary of the Club and a number of special celebration games were played, including one against the Chelsea Pensioners at the Royal Hospital. The recent visit was a chance for Caterham Bowling Club to< entertain the Chelsea Pensioners< at their Club and take part in the return match.

Michael Hewett, Captain of Caterham Bowling Club said: “My wife and I have been members for 38 years and for us this has been the most memorable match in which we have been involved. We feel privileged to have been able to entertain the Chelsea Pensioners at our Club.”
