Local residents are urged to join the ‘CR3 Forum’ to influence local policies

Eagle-eyed shoppers in Croydon Road, Caterham Valley may have noticed a new window display at number 30, promoting the the launch of the new ‘CR3 Forum’. The Forum has been established to create a Neighbourhood Plan for Caterham, Whyteleafe and Chaldon to influence local policies in the areas of Housing; Leisure/Community; Police/ Education/ Healthcare; Transport; Urban Design/Heritage and Utilities.

A steering group to create the Neighbourhood Plan has been formed by representatives from Caterham Valley Parish Council, Caterham on the Hill Parish Council, Whyteleafe Village Council, Chaldon Village Council, Caterham Community Partnership and Caterham Business Partnership. They The shop at 30 Croydon Road, Caterham, currently being used to help promote the CR3 Forum. have formed Working Party groups to look into the individual areas and are recruiting local volunteers to help with the project. Publicity events with stands promoting the CR3 Forum have been held outside Morrisons in Caterham Valley, Tescos in Caterham-onthe- Hill and most recently at the Help for Heroes event held at Whyteleafe Recreation Ground on Sunday 16th September.

Speaking at the Help for Heroes event, CR3 Forum member and Caterham Valley Parish Councillor Jenny Gaffney, said: “The Neighbourhood Plan is a great opportunity for local people to have more influence over the Tandridge District Council’s policies. It’s very exciting and lots of people have shown interest in getting involved. We need all the help we can get and it would be great to have a diverse range of enthusiastic local residents from all professions and backgrounds having their say in putting the Neighbourhood Plan together”.
