District marks Remembrance Day
Published: Friday, 16 November 2012 08:04

Remembrance Day services took place at churches across the district last Sunday, 11th November, with many uniformed groups, councillors, politicians, ex-servicemen and members of the public turning out to mark the occasion on what turned out to be a beautiful day.

The service at St. Luke's Church in Whyteleafe was attended by Sam Gyimah MP and his wife Nicky, the Chairman of Tandridge District Council, Sakina Bradbury and Chief Executive of Tandridge District Council, Stephen Weigel. The service in Whyteleafe was especially significant this year as last week it was announced that the village will be launching a new branch of the Royal Brtish Legion to replace the old branch that closed four years ago.
