Man arrested in connection with Caterham sexual assault

A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault in Caterham which took place earlier this month.

The incident took place around 12.45am on Saturday, 5th January as the victim, a woman in her 20s, walked through an alleyway connecting Whyteleafe Road and Burntwood Lane .

The man was arrested at a property in Caterham on the evening of Tuesday, 29th January on suspicion of sexual assault and taken into custody. He has since been bailed until Thursday, 7th February while the investigation continues.
