Man eliminated from sexual assault investigation

Detectives have now spoken with a man captured on CCTV in the area around the time a sexual assault took place in Caterham and he has been eliminated from their enquiries.

Officers continue to urge anyone with information on the incident which took place around 12.45am on Saturday, 5th January as the victim, a woman in her 20s, walked through an alleyway connecting Whyteleafe Road and Burntwood Lane to contact them.

Members of the public and the media who have assisted with the investigation so far are thanked.

Anyone with information on this assault should contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference TD/13/76 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
