Swimming Success at Caterham School
Published: Friday, 22 February 2013 11:53

On Saturday 2nd February, Caterham School Swimming Squad took part in the Surrey Schools Championships at the Guildford Spectrum.

Caoimhe Flatley (Fifth Year) from Caterham won the Intermediate Girls' Breaststroke and is now County Champion and Jim Nye (Lower Sixth), also from Caterham achieved Silver in the Senior Boys Individual Medley.

Head of Swimming, Miss Rachel Hart, said: "I was delighted with the performance of the whole squad, in particular the Junior Swimmers who were competing against opposition that, in many events were one year older than them. The standard of competition was very high so I am very pleased that they did so well. Caoimhe and Jim have also won the School's Darby Medals for Swimming."

On Wednesday 6th February, Caterham School hosted the Junior District Swimming Gala. There were some exceptionally close races against local rivals but the U12 boys squad came through victorious to win their age group to be crowned District Champions. Other schools that took part were Lingfield Notre Dame, Reigate Grammar School, Royal Alexander and Albert School and Dunottar.
