Over 40 local business people attended a 'Speed Networking' event at Barclays Bank in Caterham yesterday evening, (Thursday 14th March). Professions ranging from estate agents, accountants, IT experts and even a bailiff mingled at the event, being compelled to move around the room and speak to someone new each time Barclays Area Manager, Chris Evans, blew his whistle!

Barclays laid on wine, soft drinks and a tasty buffet prepared by Bloomers Bakery for the visitors, most of whom had arrived straight from work. Barclays Local Business Managers, Rob Burchett and Emma Carpenter who organised the event were delighted to see so many people in attendance.

Emma Carpenter said: "We are absolutely over the moon. It is a brilliant turn-out, one of the best events we have held."

Andrew Mackenzie-Smart of the tax advisory firm Smart Solutions based in Caterham said: "It is a good spread of people here. I've met lots of new people and I'm really pleased I came along."
