Witnesses sought following armed robbery in Coulsdon

Flying Squad detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following an armed robbery at a bank in Coulsdon yesterday, 13 June.

 

Police were called at approximately 13:50hrs to reports that two men, both armed with a gun, had robbed the Natwest Bank on Brighton Road, near the junction with The Avenue, Coulsdon.

 

The two suspects are said to have threatened customers and staff inside the bank and stolen a quantity of cash from one of the customers before leaving. They are then said to have made off on a moped along The Avenue.

 

Detectives from the Flying Squad are investigating.

 

Both suspects are described as white men in their mid to late 20s.

 

Nobody has been arrested at present and enquiries continue.
