Rotary say thank you for giving to 'Thanks for Life'
Published: Thursday, 01 April 2010 07:16

On Saturday, 27th February schoolchildren from Hamsey Green Junior School and some of their parents visited the shop in Station Avenue to present a cheque to the Rotary Clubs for £1,254.85. The generous amount was raised through their sponsored keep fit project. The photo shows Deputy Head, Linda Etheridge, far left and President of Caterham Rotary, Jim Burton (centre) with the group from Hamsey Green Junior School.

The Rotary Clubs of Caterham and Caterham Harestone would like to say 'thank you' to all the people who contributed to the 'Thanks for Life' street collection in Caterham Valley during the week of 20th- 27th February.

Over £1,100 was collected which will be matched by the Gates Foundation and will mean that 5,500 children can be vaccinated against polio. Thanks also go to Southern Railway and Doherty Baines Managing Agents for their generosity in providing the clubs with the shop in Station Avenue free of charge.
