Recycling storyboard competition needs your entries
Published: Friday, 19 July 2013 10:12

Local children are being encouraged to take part in a recycling comic storyboard competition featured in the Council's schools newsletter 'Get recycling with Tandridge Ted'.

The aim of the newsletter and the competition is to get children to appreciate how important it is to recycle their rubbish and how many things can be recycled.

The competition, open to 4-11 year olds living or at school in the Tandridge district, closes on Friday 2nd August. Divided into two age groups (4-7 year olds and 8-11 year olds), the entries will be judged by the Council.

The winners will each receive a Tandridge Ted teddy bear and goody bag.

Promoting the competition, Councillor Tony Elias, Chairman of the Community Services Committee, which is responsible for the new waste and recycling service, said: "It's time to get your thinking hats on and get drawing. Make sure you send your entry in by 2nd August and don't forget - the newsletter also has plenty of other things for you to do including games and quizzes."

Entry forms and the competition can be downloaded from www.tandridge.gov.uk/colouringcompetition. For the full newsletter visit www.tandridge.gov.uk/schoolnewsletter.
