Picnic in the Park
Published: Friday, 26 July 2013 06:06

Whyteleafe Events are holding their yearly 'Picnic in the Park' event this Sunday 8th September at Whyteleafe Recreation Ground from 11am-5pm. The event will raise money for Help for Heroes, St. Catherine's Hospice and The Maypole Project.

The fun kicks off at 11am with a welly race from the Whyteleafe Tavern to Whyteleafe Recreation Ground where later in the day there will be birds of prey displays (1.25pm and 4pm), tug o' war (3pm), a boxing display (2.15pm) and a display by Premier BMX (4.25pm).

The children can have their faces painted, try out the bouncy castle and test their skills at 'Beat the Goalie' and arts and crafts. There will be numerous stalls selling their wares sourced from businesses in the local area. A good selection of food and drink will be located in the pavilion and the Whyteleafe Tavern will also have a bar at the event. Amongst the food stalls will be hog roasts, tapas and a barbecue.

Live music will be supplied by Suzie Gee and Goldie and there will be an auction and raffle.  For more information or any questions please contact Tom Dempsey (Events Co-Ordinator) and Vicky Warner-Hill (Deputy Chairman) c/o The Whyteleafe Tavern.
