Little Dance at Tandridge Trust
Published: Friday, 06 September 2013 10:16

Tuesday 17th September welcomes back the ever popular Little Dance mini courses run by Tandridge Trust. These short five week courses introduce children to Creative Movement and help to increase confidence and general fitness.

The Little Dance program was originally set up to aid the development of physical co-ordination and imagination among children. An art form in itself and healthy distraction to keep children away from TV and computers, dance is a great way to improve posture and utilise the boundless energy that children have. They learn to listen to music and encourage individual interpretation as well as following instruction. Studies show that children who dance regularly show better levels of concentration and a deeper understanding and appreciation of the arts as a whole.

Dance practitioner, Nikki Watson will take children on a journey of exploration using props and music to stimulate imagination, communication and encourage teamwork.

Each course runs over a five week period. The first course runs from Tuesday 17th September to Tuesday 15th October (inclusive) and the second course from Tuesday 5th November – Tuesday 3rd December (inclusive). All classes are from 4pm-4.45pm.

Booking is essential as places are limited. Please call Tandridge Leisure Centre on 01883 716717 to secure your place. More details and information about other activities arranged by Tandridge Trust can be found at www.tandridgetrust.co.uk
