Caterham School pupils selected for the Surrey County Netball Academy
Published: Friday, 13 September 2013 11:24

After an exceptionally tough series of trials, two Caterham School Fourth Year pupils have been selected for the Surrey County Netball Academy.

Ellie Ibrahim and Chloe Wyner, both from Caterham, began training on Monday 9th September and will train every week for two hours until April when the season will culminate in the girls representing Surrey in the Regional Festival.

The Academy is for the best netballers in Surrey between the ages of 14 to 18 years, and it is the first step on the pathway towards achieving regional, and perhaps even national, honours.

Head of Netball Jaclyn Leach said: "The girls emerged successfully from two days of trials in May, the first of which was attended by over one hundred girls, plus a further two evening trials sessions in June. To gain a place in the Academy in the first year that they are eligible is a very impressive achievement."
