With Christmas approaching, interest in St Catherine's newest event in Caterham is starting to snowball...

The Santa Run is taking place on Sunday 13th December at Queen's Park. The event will raise funds for the hospice which provides specialised end of life care for local people in Crawley, Horsham, Mid Sussex and East Surrey.

Starting at 10.30am, participants will run three laps of about 1km. The emphasis is on fun, so the course can be completed at any speed and distance, and everyone is welcome to take part. Dogs can be brought along to the event too, as long as they are kept on a lead.

Every participant will be given their sponsor form and a free Santa outfit (children under four will be given a Santa hat). As an early Christmas present, runners will also be rewarded with a well-deserved medal and festive refreshments when they finish.

Entry fees are £12 for adults and £7.50 for children under 16.

Victoria Lawrence, St Catherine's Community Fundraiser, said: "Having expanded our services for East Surrey patients earlier this year, we are particularly pleased to be launching this new family event in Caterham. We hope that the whole community will really get into the festive spirit and support our Santa Run."
