Cake sale raises cash for Macmillan Cancer Support
Published: Friday, 11 October 2013 09:13

On Friday 27th September the residents of Asprey Court in Stafford Road, Caterham held a coffee and cake morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Tony Blyth, one of the organisers, said: "I am very pleased with how the morning went, with the sale of the coffee, tea and cakes, a raffle, tombola and the sale of greetings cards all helping to make it a wonderful morning."

The residents would like to thank all the people who contributed in the making of the cakes, and donating gifts to the tombola and raffle. They would also like to say many thanks to Morrison's and Waitrose for their kind contributions and a big 'thank you' to Barclays Bank who said they would match the Coffee Day's takings up to £750.

Lee from Morrison's and Clive and Claire from Barclays Bank attended the Coffee Day along with Alyson Tames the Asprey Court House Manager with her Area Manager Trish Eve from Peverel Properties.

At the end of the morning Tony Blyth said: "I am amazed at how well we have done for a small residence. We have raised over £1,600 with a couple of private donations still to come!"
