Chairman of Tandridge District Council, Beverley Connolly, officially opened the event then Cllr Connolly and Rotary members joined the guests for a two course lunch followed by live entertainment from popular local singer, John Lazenby. The more spritely guests wer soon on the dance floor, dancing to music from the Rat Pack era. The afternoon tea was highlighted by a sing-a-long with the Rotary Choir with many guests taking turns singing via a roaming handheld microphone.

President of Caterham Rotary, Peter Lyons said that it was a most enjoyable day and thanked Surrey National Golf Club for the use of their premises. He added that he was overwhelmed by the number of guests that thanked the Club for the wonderful lunch."
