Celebrity footballer visits de Stafford School

On Thursday 7th November, ex-professional footballer for Wimbledon FC, Kevin Cooper and Clarry Birch from the Crystal Palace Community Foundation visited de Stafford School in Caterham to talk about a special football event taking place at Selhurst Park on Sunday 10th November. The event will be a a fundraiser at Selhurst Park to support the Crystal Palace Foundation and Nordoff Robbins.

Kevin and Clarry spoke to over 300 students in assembly to encourage them to spend £1 to go and support the game on Sunday and spoke about why supporting local charities is important.

After the visit, de Stafford School teacher, Kate Harris, said: "The students were so excited to have Kevin and Clarry come to the school to talk about the importance of sport and charity work. The students left the assembly really excited about the game on Sunday. I am sure as a result of Kevin and Clarry's visit lots of de Stafford students will be visiting Selhurst Park on Sunday to see celebrities playing football in a fun match and to support a very worthwhile cause!"
