Mufti Day at Oasis Academy Coulsdon
Published: Friday, 15 November 2013 11:27

The Oasis Academy Coulsdon is holding a Mufti Day today with fundraising activities planned throughout the day to raise hundreds of pounds for Children in Need.

All students have paid a £1 in order to wear their own clothes for the day.   Over forty students are taking part in a sponsored silence and many students have sprayed their hair red for the day.   Students have been busy baking cakes at home and one exceptionally talented baker, 12 year old Hannah McFall from Old Coulsdon, has made 124 Pudsey Cakes which are sure to sell out in minutes!

PA to the Executive Principal, Marion Jones, said:  "Our Year 9 students have been trying to find a male staff member brave enough to have his legs waxed at lunchtime.  They have no takers yet, but they will not be put off and are determined to get their man!

"Last year the Academy raised over £800 and we are determined to raise even more this year."
