Ridge Radio rallies to help Philippines disaster victims
Published: Friday, 15 November 2013 13:07

The Chairman of local community radio station, Mark Jones, has put out a rallying cry to encourage people to help with the production and sale of a CD to raise funds for the victims of the disaster in the Philippines.

Mark said:  “Sometimes we just don't realise how lucky we are. Thousands of people are dead in the Philippines and some are still dying.  The plan is to make a one song CD to sell to raise funds. We need local musicians, singers, and also the movers, shakers and leaders of Tandridge to get behind this to make it happen. It would be something along the lines of the 'We are the World' song for Africa.  As well as musicians we will need non-musical people so there is no getting out of this Tandridge project!

“We need people to reach out into schools and businesses and the community to promote and distribute the CDs and if we can raise £1,000 it will make a huge difference.  Can we all unite to make this happen?”
