Special guest arrives to switch on Cedar Tree lights
Published: Saturday, 12 December 2009 05:05

Guest of honour Father Christmas with three of his helpers

Despite the cold and rain, approximately 200 people attended the switching on of the Cedar Tree Christmas Lights in the High Street in Caterham-on-the-Hill last Saturday.

For the third year, Buxton Building Contractors kindly gave permission for the event to be held on their forecourt, where the crowd sang carols and enjoyed free mince pies and mulled wine served by the organisers, Caterham-on-the-Hill Parish Council. After Father Christmas switched on the lights everyone was treated to a flurry of snow from one of the town's new artificial snow machines.
