A time for giving
Published: Thursday, 05 December 2013 05:54

On Friday 22nd November Eric Richard (The Bill's Sgt Bob Cryer) was at Knights Garden Centre, Woldingham to show his support for Marie Curie Cancer Care's Christmas appeal.

Eric said: "Marie Curie nurses make a huge difference to patients with cancer and other terminal illnesses, and their care is even more important at Christmas. So, this Christmas, turn your festive fun into a fundraiser for Marie Curie Cancer Care. I would urge everyone to support this very worthy cause."

The charity is looking for singers or choirs to organise their own event such as a carol concert, school nativity or carol singing in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. Every song will make a real difference to families affected by terminal illness across Surrey this Christmas.

Karen Green, volunteer PR for Marie Curie said: "If you feel your harmonies might not be so tuneful, why not have a party, a play, a plate collection in your local church or even your own version of Come Dine With Me and raise vital funds to support the 13 Marie Curie nurses who work throughout Surrey during the season of goodwill?"

For more information on how to get involved, please call the Surrey Fundraising Office on 01883 832648.
