Murder investigation launched in Nutfield
Published: Tuesday, 11 May 2010 13:53

Detectives have launched a murder investigation after the body of a woman was discovered at a property in Nutfield last night (Monday 10 May).

Police were called by the ambulance service shortly after 6pm and attended the address in High Street where the woman in her 30s was found with fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Two men, aged 40 and 41, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in police custody.

Officers from Surrey Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team have carried out house-to-house enquiries in the area and a forensic examination of the scene is being undertaken.

The woman has not yet been identified and a post mortem examination is due to be carried out this afternoon at the Royal Surrey County Hospital to establish the cause of death.

Call 0845 125 2222 for all non-emergency policing matters.

Call 999 if you have a genuine emergency requiring the attendance of the police (eg a crime is in progress or someone is in immediate danger).

Call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you have information about crime and don't want to leave your name.
