On Monday 2nd June 'last orders' were called for the very last time at the Tally Ho pub in Coulsdon Road, Caterham-on-the-Hill. In 2005 the pub was sold by Punch Taverns to a firm of developers who sold it on to another firm of developers, G&L Investments, last year. The new owners will be demolishing the pub to make way for a block of 14 flats and a wine bar.

Landlady, Sue McCarron, who has lived at the pub with her husband Frank and son Rob for the last 17 years, said: “The Tally Ho has been here since the late 1800s and has seen a lot of changes over the years. It has been a great watering hole and meeting place for the local residents and I would like to say a big 'thank you' to everyone who has supported the pub over the years. We have met a really nice, friendly bunch of people during our time here and we are very sad to be going.”
