Another soaring success for Caterham Carnival!
Published: Friday, 18 June 2010 10:40

An impressive display by members of Skaterham was one of the highlights of this year's Caterham Carnival at Westway Common last Saturday. The Deputy Leader of Tandridge District Council, Brian Perkins and East Surrey MP Sam Gyimah attended for the Opening Ceremony along with Warlingham May Queen, Kiah Cowie and Caterham Town Crier, Sonia Hunt. The lively Caterham May Queen float with its Wizard of Oz theme won the prize for Best Float, and the Warlingham May Queen and her entourage won Best Walking Procession. £300.11 was raised by collectors during the Carnival procession, which was £180 more than last year.

Chairman of the Caterham Carnival Committee, Martin Vaux, said: “I am delighted the Carnival has been another success and such a large crowd attended. The arena acts were very entertaining.”
