Council flies flag for Armed Forces
Published: Friday, 25 June 2010 10:59

On Monday 21st June a special flag was flown by Tandridge District Council to mark the second British Armed Forces Day on Saturday 26th June.

Armed Forces Day is an opportunity for the nation to show its appreciation for the contribution made by all those who serve or have served in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces. All councils were invited to join in by flying a specially commissioned flag and a wide range of community events took place across the country to commemorate the occasion.

Chairman of the Council, Councillor Alan Jones, said: “We are pleased to support this day which aims to show recognition and appreciation for all those remarkable men and women who have fought or are still fighting for our country.”
